What does “Waiting on God’s Timing” really mean?

Posted on November 4, 2009. Filed under: Encouragement/Empowerment |

It amazes me that so many people are “waiting on God’s timing.”  What does that mean exactly?  I truly believe that God’s timing is linked with your actions to some extent.  If you are “waiting on God’s timing” by fiddling your thumbs and praying then God’s timing may never happen.  If you are preparing for your purpose while you “wait on God’s timing,” then I believe 100% that you will be successful as long as your preparation is balanced with prayer, fasting and spending time in the Word, so that you are able to be more intimate with him and intuned with the Holy Spirit to discern His flow.

Have we really been waiting on God’s timing or have we been waiting on God to make it happen for us.  There is a difference.  We have to preparing ourselves, our character and our Spirit.  A prime example:  If you want to be an author and you are “waiting on God’s timing,” you had better be preparing your books, researching how the publishing process works, researching how book fairs work, researching how book signings work etc.  Even if you plan on having someone else do that part for you, you should at least know how it works.  Then when purpose (God’s) hit preparation (yours), God’s timing is truly defined.

Waiting, still requires action on your part!!!!
